We talked about 10 things you didn’t know about Denver, and so if you’re tempted to come here, there are certainly lots of things to do in Denver.

We’ve chosen some of our favorite activities, sights and things to do in Denver that will keep you entertained and give you an insight into this amazing region.

In no particular order, here are our favorites.

1. Lakeside Amusement Park

Lakeside Amusement Park  offers family-friendly rides and entertainment, a great view of the Rocky Mountains, and is the perfect place to spend a long afternoon into the evening.

2. Plenty of parks

Denver offers plenty of parks and green spaces to relax in, and enjoy.

Washington Park is set in 155 acres and has two lakes.

Cheesman Park is perfect for a walk or ride round, and the Walter Scott Cheesman Pavillion has hosted weddings since 1908.

Denver Botanic Gardens offers plenty to see and do, from sculptures to concerts.

3. Museums

There are many museums to visit, no matter what you’re interested in. Here are just some of them

The Denver Museum of Science and Nature  has plenty to see and do, from an IMAX cinema and planetarium to scientific research.

The Forney Museum of Transportation has over 600 items on display from cars and planes to sleighs and trains.

The Denver Art Museum  has a wide collection of exhibits, including European, African and American art, textile and fashion art, oceanic art and photography.

The Wings Over The Rockies Museum aims to educate people about aviation and space.

4. The Rockies

Denver is famous for the Rocky Mountains, and if you’re coming here you can’t miss them.

Why not view them from the ground, or take an organized tour, go climbing or simply drive along this impressive mountain range?

5. Take in a game

With 7 professional sports teams in Denver, you’ll be spoilt for choice if you want to take in a game whilst you’re here.

From Football and Basketball to Lacrosse and Soccer, there’s something for everyone.

6. Mount Evans Scenic Byway

 

The Mount Evans Scenic Byway climbs 7,000ft in just 28 miles to an altitude of 14,000ft, and offers amazing views from the highest of the Rocky Mountains. You’ll be able to see plenty of wildlife too, making this unmissable and should certainly be on your list of things to do in Denver.

7. Whiskey Tour

If you enjoy a tipple, you’ll want to take a distillery bus tour whilst you’re here.

8. Larimer Square

If you’ve looking for a quieter afternoon or evening why not get away from it all and find something to eat and buy at Larimer Square ?

You’ll find a wide range of independent shops, restaurants and bars and clubs. No matter whether you’re looking for fashion or night life, you’ll find it here.

9. City Tour

No matter your interests or what you want to see whilst you’re here, you’ll want to take a Denver City Tour . Why not see what else you’ll discover whilst you’re here?

If you really want to make the most of your time here, why not spend an evening at the world famous Denver Comedy Works or take in a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre?

10. Buildings

There is much impressive architecture in Denver, so if you appreciate the outside of a building as much as the inside you’ll find plenty to see here.

The Denver Union Station  offers a wide range of shopping, hotels and dining in a 100-year-old historic landmark.

The Denver Public Library  is well worth a visit even if you spend more time reading a screen than a book these days.

The Denver State Capitol offers a wealth of history and spectacular views from the top of the dome.
